Melissa graduated from Western Michigan University with a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Six years in the medical setting and eleven years in education has reinforced for her the importance of integrating a person's speech, language, social and critical thinking skills across family, school, and social settings. Areas of experience include language
disorders, social thinking, critical thinking, phonemic awareness, executive function skills, speech and fluency throughout childhood.
Melissa believes in the power of a thorough assessment so that together with family partnership, achievable goals can be set and met through the use of skill building and strategic interventions. Melissa considers experiences of success critical as children progress along the communication continuum and gain confidence in achieving their own unique potential.
