Important Information for Medicaid/MI Child Clients
January 11, 2016
BRAINS has been working to improve our understanding of Medicaid benefits, particularly as they relate to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Developmental Disability (DD). There have been and will continue to be changes in access to care for these areas of services. BRAINS is not permitted to work directly with individuals who have a Medicaid or MIChild policy when the primary reason for evaluation or therapy is for ASD and/or DD services. In these circumstances, you must work with your Local Community Mental Health Agency to coordinate benefits and services. Information from the State of Michigan Medicaid Autism Behavioral Health Treatment/Applied Behavior Analysis Services can be found at michigan.gov and to find more on Community Mental Health Service Programs across the state please see michigan.gov.
More specifically, Priority Health has shared a useful link specifically relating to Priority Health Medicaid and ASD services at priorityhealth.com.
Additional information can be found at the State of Michigan website Medicaid Provider manual.
