Rene' is a professional with a passion for understanding how sensory processing issues may be effecting a child's overall development, particularly in the social emotional area. She believes that some behavior can be a result of inaccurate sensory processing that is often misinterpreted as a child "acting out." She uses a whole child approach in her evaluation process, looking at all areas of development to determine how accurately the child's nervous system is processing sensory information, thereby providing a "sensory profile." Rene' has 25 years experience in working with children from birth to age 12 encompassing such roles as an evaluator in educational as well as home settings, a consultant on a transdisciplinary team, a parent group leader, a service coordinator for families, and a service provider in school and home settings. In addition to evaluation, Rene' can offer treatment intervention via home programs, sensory diets, and ongoing intervention sessions to promote sensory integration to improve overall functioning at home and at school. She is also attending specialized training in the Anat Baniel Method.
