Occupational and Physical Therapy Services

BRAINS provides a unique clinic providing sensory-based and motor-based assessment and intervention. As part of the multidisciplinary team at BRAINS, we strive to gain a holistic (or whole child) view of each child.  This means understanding how the child functions in a variety of environments such as home, school, with family, with peers, etc.  All assessments and interventions are specifically tailored to the maximum benefit of each individual child.

We assist in providing differential diagnosis (for example, between Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Sensory Processing Disorder) in order to create a treatment approach that addresses the underlying cause of the child’s behaviors/issues.

Our clinic is staffed by a Master’s Level Occupational Therapist and a Physical Therapist with more than 25 years of experience working with children.  Our therapists have focused their time and energy around gaining expertise in the area of Sensory Integration, in order to offer this unique and powerful treatment approach at BRAINS.  We offer a variety of techniques including sensory integration therapy, the Anat Baniel Method of Feldenkrais Therapy, and individual and group based therapy.
