In 2011, Patricia received a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Grand Valley State University. Shortly
after, Patricia received her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2013 also from Grand Valley State University. Patricia is licensed by the state of Michigan and registered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
Patricia works with a wide population including children and adolescents 2 years to 18 years old. Patricia treats individuals that may demonstrate a need with body awareness, self-regulation, decreased fine motor, core and upper extremity strength and coordination, motor planning disorders, sensory processing difficulties, visual perceptual disorders, vestibular, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and picky eaters. Patricia also has expertise with autism and early intervention. Treatment sessions include child-led and behavioral techniques used to promote engagement and independence. Patricia’s child-led techniques are based on Dr. Solomon’s P.L.A.Y early intervention programming.
Patricia has pursued continuing education in program such as The P.L.A.Y Project, Brain Gym, sensory integration strategies, and more. Patricia strives to provide family-centered intervention planning for improved participation in activities of daily living. Patricia has been building her practice at BRAINS since October 2014 and is thrilled to be able to provide Occupational Therapy services to West Michigan families as part of this diverse and unified team of clinicians.
