Girls Group: Group Therapy for Girls on the Autism Spectrum
Females tend to be more socially motivated than their male peers. This group is a safe place for individuals to practice communication, strengthen social skills and learn from each other.
Bi-weekly, Tuesdays April 9th – June 18th.
5:30 PM- 7:00PM
This group is appropriate for your child if:
- they are a female between the ages of 12 and 16 years old
- they have been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder
- they would benefit from the opportunity to interact socially and practice social skills in a safe, therapeutic environment
Your child can expect to learn:
- cognitive flexibility
- how to relate to others
- how to work with peers towards like goals
- perspective taking
- communication skills
- social skills
Girls Group will meet bi-weekly on Tuesdays at BRAINS. Registration is required and space is limited. If you are interested in Girls Group but cannot attend on these dates and times, please see additional dates for Girls Group below;
Bi-weekly, Tuesdays October 4th – December 10th
Bi-weekly, Tuesdays January 7th – March 17th
Sessions are facilitated by Jennie Reminga, LMSW, CAADC
Speak with a support staff by calling 616-365-8920 or visit us in the office. Registration deadline is Tuesday, April 2nd. Registration will remain open until capacity is met or until May 7th. Participants must attend at least 4 out of 6 sessions for the group to be therapeutically beneficial.
$50 per session. $300 due in full at time of registration.
