Biography

Michelle has been an outpatient therapist in a community mental health setting since 2004. She has worked extensively with individuals and families coping with Borderline Personality Disorder and providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in both individual and group settings. Michelle has received intensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Beck Institute. She enjoys applying this knowledge in working with individuals with various mood disorders including anxiety and depression as well as substance abuse and eating disorders. Michelle also enjoys working with children and adolescents with autism, ADHD, ODD, as well as their families in developing interventions to help clients reach their fullest potential.

Michelle has lived in West Michigan for the past 7 years, although she has spent time in various other parts of the country as well. She loves to travel and indulge her passion for photography. Michelle and her husband are proud parents to three young children, a son and twin girls. Michelle appreciates that each client comes from their own unique background. She believes in working together as a team to address each individual’s specific needs and aspirations in the manner that works best for them.
