Draycen DeCator, PhD

Psychologist

Biography

Dr. DeCator completed his PhD in Clinical Psychology at DePaul University in Chicago. During his time in graduate school he had clinical experience in pediatric neuropsychology and pediatric psychology at Comer Children’s Hospital, and his pre-doctoral internship was completed at Boston Children’s Hospital. His dissertation focused on executive functioning in youth with different medical conditions. Dr. DeCator is particularly interested in the interplay between medical conditions and both neuropsychological and social/emotional functioning in children, adolescents, and adults. Although much of his training was in pediatric hospital settings, Dr. DeCator was trained to work with adults, and still saw many adults in those hospital settings, along with children and adolescents. As a result, he is comfortable working with people across the lifespan. He completed his two-year post-doctoral training in neuropsychology at BRAINS, and he is now a full-time member of the assessment team.

Dr. DeCator is originally from the Grand Rapids area, and he has enjoyed being back since completing his training.
