Geoffrey Beene, LLMSW is a clinically training and limited licensed social worker at the BRAINS Adult & Adolescent Clinic. He enjoys working with patients ranging from ages 13 to 45 years old. As a therapist, he supports his clients by identifying barriers and roadblocks and finding ways to navigate and balance strong emotions and symptoms. Using a holistic approach, Geoffrey partners with his clients to develop a plan to cope with the journey of life. He utilizes the strengths perspective to empower patients to work through their goals, this approach helps with building an autonomous and healthy therapeutic relationship.
Prior to joining BRAINS, Geoffrey conducted therapy in community-based settings, providing case management and support in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and spent time working with youth transitioning to adulthood in residential environments. In addition to counseling and community work, Geoffrey teaches psychology and social work courses at local institutes of higher education. Geoffrey was born and raised in the Grand Rapids area and enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, traveling, and fishing.
