Dr. Jennifer Maurer is a licensed psychologist with a special interest in pediatric neuropsychology, although she provides assessment to individuals across the life span. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Dr. Maurer attended the University of Pittsburgh. With a love for research, she worked at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as a senior research administrator overseeing many federally-funded neuroimaging studies. She had the honor of co-authoring many peer-reviewed articles as well as presenting research across the country.
After a decade dedicated to research, Dr. Maurer sought out a clinical degree to offer direct intervention, with a passion for understanding children with difficulties. Her doctoral internship fortunately led her to BRAINS in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The BRAINS philosophy and mission led to a commitment to continue treating the West Michigan area in this diverse multidisciplinary practice. Dr. Maurer is happy to have been a valued member of the assessment team since 2010.
Although she misses Pittsburgh, Dr. Maurer is proud to call West Michigan her home. She has a research interest in animal-assisted therapy and is the proud owner of a Jack-Russell Beagle (Jackabee) mix, Baxter. She is a super-fan of the Steelers and is an avid reader in her spare time.
