Bio

Kaylin is a fully licensed social worker who has experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. She gained her Bachelor of Social Work from Grand Valley State University and her Masters from Western Michigan University with an emphasis on trauma and trauma treatment. Her clinical experience was gained through providing therapeutic services in a variety of settings such as residential treatment facilities, in-home therapy programs, and working in community mental health. Kaylin works with children, adolescents, and families on a variety of treatment needs. In addition to working with trauma, she also has experience working with mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, children with ADHD, and anger or other behavior challenges. She works with individuals and families and is available for parent consultation and support. Kaylin utilizes a variety of techniques including play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Zones of Regulation, Motivational Interviewing, Incredible Years parenting model, and crisis and suicide prevention. Her main goal is to meet the child where they are and tailor therapy to meet each child’s individual needs. Kaylin looks forward to working with children 16 years of age and under.

Kaylin grew up in southwest Michigan and moved to the Grand Rapids area 4 years ago. She is an avid animal lover and enjoys spending time with her “fur babies.” Kaylin strives to create an individualized care plan for every client and family to provide a space for therapeutic growth and connection.
