Rachel started at BRAINS in 2021. She works with teenagers, adults, and older adults on a variety of treatment needs. In addition to mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, Rachel has been working with individuals who have been dealing with trauma, anger, behavioral challenges, grief, the desire for holistic healing, and medical challenges. She works with individuals, families, and groups. Prior to joining BRAINS, Rachel conducted counseling in the foster care system, adoption agencies, substance use clinics, and a neurological medical center.

Rachel grew up as an “Army Brat” and moved frequently in her youth. Due to the constant relocation, Rachel developed a fondness of culture, travel, and exploration. Rachel has settled in Grand Rapids, MI where she resides with her husband and two children. Rachel has many interests and hobbies including but not limited to music, dance, and reading. Rachel utilizes a mix of therapeutic strategies to work with each individual which may include a more holistic approach with meditation, detox acupuncture, and/or deep breathing practices.
