Nicole Caugherty Han, PhD

Biography

Dr. Nicole Caugherty Han completed her Ph.D. in school psychology (specialization in neuropsychology) at Ball State University. Following graduate school, she pursued a specialization in pediatric neuropsychology and received training in the medical setting at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Alberta Children’s Hospital. She recently joined BRAINS to complete her postdoctoral residency in neuropsychology. During her training at Ball State, Dr. Caugherty Han spent two years conducting psychoeducational assessments in the school system to inform special education placement and evidence-based interventions. She believes these educational and clinical experiences have given her a unique perspective and skill set to meet the needs of those services at BRAINS. Dr. Caugherty Han also strongly values diversity and continually strives to understand and integrate these factors into her services in order to provide the highest quality of care.

Dr. Caugherty Han was born and raised in Indiana and moved to Grand Rapids to be closer to family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, trying new recipes, and playing with her two dogs, Charlie and Olive. She is very excited to join the multidisciplinary team at BRAINS and contribute to the Grand Rapids community.
