Shelby Chorny, MS, OTR/L

Shelby has known that she wanted to be an Occupational Therapist since high school when she first job shadowed in an outpatient pediatric clinic. She attended Western Michigan University for her OT degree, where she further discovered her love for working with kids. During her time at WMU, Shelby got the opportunity for many grand adventures including studying abroad in Ireland and Jamaica, doing a clinical rotation in Texas, and participating in the Disney College Program where she met her husband. Upon graduation, Shelby moved to Florida to be closer to the most magical place on earth and has been on every ride at Disney World. She spent 4 years as a Florida OT working in a variety of settings including home health and outpatient pediatrics, school-based therapy, and acute care hospital-based settings. Shelby has worked with every age group of people from 4 months old to 101 years old. As a home health and outpatient OT Shelby worked with early intervention, medically complex cases, physical disabilities, sensory processing, neurological disabilities, ASD, feeding, and much more.

In her free time, Shelby loves hiking, biking, kayaking, and reading a good book. She loves to spend time with her family and is called mom by a foster daughter, a big happy lab mix named Wazowski, and a leopard gecko named Randall. Shelby is so excited to be working with BRAINS and looks forward to meeting your child.
