Christie Martin, LPC

Christie is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She started as a therapist at BRAINS in 2021 and currently works with children and adolescents with various treatment needs. Her previous experience includes working with families involved in the child welfare setting, counseling college students, and assisting adults with disabilities. Christie provides therapeutic interventions for individuals coping with concerns such as depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, adjustment concerns, and complex trauma. The types of therapy Christie uses include play, trauma focused therapy, and cognitive therapy.

Christie grew up in West Michigan where she currently lives with her husband and two young daughters. She enjoys being outdoors, reading a good book, cooking, and visiting family and friends. Christie believes that therapy is about the child as well as their support system. Understanding the individual’s experience while utilizing a trauma-informed lens allows for a more whole-person approach to treatment while also building up resilience.
